R P Thakur reviews working of SICOP


Srinagar, Mar 04 (KINS): After assuming the charge of Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Ranjan Prakash Thakur today reviewed the working of J&K Small Scale Industries Development Corporation (SICOP) at Udyog Bhawan here.
The Principal Secretary reviewed activity-wise performance of the Corporation and enquired from the Managing Director SICOP about the issues being confronted by the Corporation on regular basis.
The Principal Secretary was informed that there is huge outstanding with various Government departments on account of supply of various MSME products and key-construction materials with the result of which local MSMES are suffering for a long.
The Principal Secretary assured that he will be taking up the matter with the concerned departments so that the MSME and the Corporation money is recovered.
Ranjan Prakash Thakur informed that he will be visiting to Industrial Estates to have first hand information about the availability of materials to MSMEs and the problems being faced by the entrepreneurs.
He further asked the Managing Director SICOP to keep a close liaison with the industrialists so that their demands and problems are settled within time.
Principal Secretary impressed upon the officers of the Corporation to work with zeal, dedication and tirelessly.  He assured that he will be available to the entrepreneurs at all times and will welcome sound suggestions from any quarters for the betterment of the Industrial sector in J&K.
At the outset, Managing Director, SICOP, Atul Sharma gave a detailed briefing to the Principal Secretary about various activities being performed by the Corporation during the last five years.
The meeting was attended by FA&CAO SICOP, General Manager (Projects), General Manager (Marketing), General Manager (HQ) and Project Engineer, SICOP Jammu.(KINS)
