Army interacts with Gujjars , Bakerwals  

Jammu: 09 Sep ( KINS )     Indian Army conducted an interaction cum awareness session on Govt schemes for uplifting of Gujjars and Bakarwals Community at Tarkundi in District Rajouri (J&K). Gujjars and Bakarwals are one of the major nomadic group of Himalayan region and have successfully maintained their identity by preserving their rich culture and ethnic traditions. The aim of this interaction cum awareness session was to spread awareness regarding various schemes designed for uplifting the community of Gujjars and Bakarwals and provide knowledge in respect of Education, Health and Employment of Youth. They were also informed about COVID-19 protocols and basic preventive measures like maintaining social distancing, washing hands with soap, wearing mask, avoid social gathering etc.
