District level Kala Utsav competition held at Govt Boys Higher Secondary School Doda

 

DODA, NOVEMBER 08 ( KINS): To promote arts in education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of school students at the secondary stage,a district level Kala Utsav competition was today held here at Government Boys Higher Secondary School. Senior Superintendent of Police Mumtaz Ahmed along Chief Education Officer Prahlad Bhagat formally inaugurated the programme by lighting the traditional lamp.

Kala Utsav is an initiative of the Ministry of Education under Samagra Shiksha Scheme.

District Level event was held wherein top performers of Zonal Level events took part. As many as 1055 students perform in 9 Art Categories already specified by Samgra Shiksha across the district out of which 91 top performers from 75 different Schools presented their artistic talent at District level event.

The Samagra Shiksha recognizes the importance of aesthetics and artistic experiences for secondary-level students, which play a major role in creating awareness of India’s rich cultural heritage and its vibrant diversity.

Besides students along with escort teachers, HOIs of various schools were also present on the occasion.

Chairman District Development Council, Dhanantar Singh along with DDC members Sandeep Singh and Manhor Lal were also present on the occasion.

“Such activities in the schools create awareness about India’s cultural heritage and its diversity among students and other stakeholders. These kind of activities also help in enhancing the various skills of the participants and prepare them as ambassadors of our culture” said Chairman District Development Council  Doda.

Besides other dignitaries Joint Director School Education DKR, District Education Planning Officer Doda and ZEOs of all Zones were also present on the occasion.( KINS)
