First time since partition, Janamashtami celebrations held at Sharda Temple LoC Teetwal Kashmir

Teetwal Sep 08: Save Sharda Committee Kashmir Regd organized ‘Janamashtami celebrations’at Sharda Temple LoC Teetwal Kashmir. The celebrations began with a bhajans and illumination of the temple premises alongwith sikh gurudwara. The temple and Gurudwara land was reclaimed in 2021 and a magnificent temple was rebuilt alongwith the sikh gurdwara, that was inaugurated by Home Minister Amit Shah in presence of LG in March this year. This dharamshala & gurudwara was burnt down in tribal raids in 1947. Everyday about 50 pilgrims & visitors, coming from different parts of the country and abroad visit this site. “It was for the first time since partition and destruction of this heritage- religious site that Janamashtami celebrations was held. I thank Indian Army and locals who provided all the support to Pujari & pilgrims today,” said Ravinder Pandita Head & founder of Save Sharda Committee Kashmir regd. He further said that we are looking forward to the upcoming Sharda Divas celebrations scheduled on 23 Sept.
