Indian army launches innovative “smartphone film making course,” Empowering 40 kashmiri youth

Srinagar, December 22, 2023:In a strategic move to nurture creativity and skill development among Kashmiri youth, the Indian Army, as part of its ongoing initiatives, collaborated with the Film & Television Institute of India (FTII Pune) to conduct a groundbreaking “Smartphone Film Making Course.”

According to Army,this innovative course, tailored to tap into the potential of visual storytelling in the digital era, equipped 40 aspiring filmmakers in the region with the knowledge and tools necessary to craft compelling narratives using their smartphones. Covering scriptwriting, cinematography, editing, and post-production techniques, the course aimed to empower participants with a comprehensive skill set.

Led by seasoned professionals and mentors from FTII, the course was designed to be inclusive, accommodating individuals with varying levels of experience. The Indian Army’s commitment to fostering education and skill development in regions like Kashmir was underscored by this initiative, reflecting its dedication to empowering youth with transformative skills.
