KPDCL again urges consumers to settle outstanding dues & abandon banned crude heating appliances to prevent power outages

Srinagar, Jan 13: In a fresh advisory, the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has called upon its consumers to promptly clear their outstanding electricity dues.
Moreover, KPDCL emphasized the dire consequences of continuing to use banned crude heating appliances. The utility highlighted that these devices pose a significant threat to Distribution Transformers, leading to frequent breakdowns and power outages that affect entire residential colonies.

The advisory emphasized the importance of responsible energy consumption and warned that the use of such appliances not only hampers the reliability of the power grid but also endangers the safety of consumers. KPDCL urged residents to switch to approved and energy-efficient alternatives to mitigate the risks associated with banned heating devices.

“Consumers are encouraged to settle their outstanding electricity bills promptly to ensure the stability of the power distribution infrastructure and prevent widespread blackouts. The utility assured consumers that adherence to these guidelines would contribute to a more resilient and efficient electricity supply system, benefiting all stakeholders in the long run”.
