MHA Extends Ban on SIMI for Five Years

Srinagar, Jan 29: In accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unwavering stance against terrorism, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has declared the ‘Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI)’ as an ‘Unlawful Association’ for an additional five-year period under the UAPA. “SIMI has been found involvement in terrorist activities, disturbing peace, and undermining communal harmony, posing a threat to the sovereignty, security, and integrity of India”, the MHA said.
