Kashmir Zone Police Launches Election Helpline to Safeguard Electoral Integrity

Srinagar, Mar 24: In a proactive move to uphold the integrity of the electoral process, Kashmir Zone Police has introduced an Election Helpline Number “8899868589” at the Police Control Room Kashmir. This helpline is specifically established to address the potential threat posed by objectionable messages circulated via various social media platforms.
The Election Commission has issued directives to combat the dissemination of objectionable content that violates election laws and the model code of conduct. Recipients of such messages are encouraged to forward the content along with sender details to the Election Helpline Number “8899868589”. Upon receipt of forwarded messages, J&K Police Kashmir Zone will promptly launch inquiries to trace the original senders, ensuring appropriate legal action under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code, Representation of the People Act, 1951, Conduct of Election Rules, 1961, and other applicable laws as per Election Commission guidelines.
These measures are designed to counteract the spread of misinformation and uphold the sanctity of the electoral process. J&K Police Kashmir Zone urges citizens to collaborate by promptly reporting any instances of objectionable messages related to the election.
