Srinagar District administration Issues Advisory Amidst Forecast of Inclement Weather

Srinagar, Apr 28: The Office of the Deputy Commissioner/District Magistrate/Chairman District Disaster Management Authority in Srinagar has issued a precautionary advisory in light of the Indian Meteorological Department’s forecast of inclement weather from April 26th to April 30th. The forecast includes rainfall and snowfall in higher reaches, accompanied by thunder, lightning, and hailstorms at isolated places.
The advisory specifically cautions residents residing on the left and right banks of River Jhelum, its tributaries, and Nallahs to refrain from venturing near these water bodies and limit their activities until the weather conditions improve. Furthermore, tourists, local Shikara Wallas, sand miners, and boat crossing points are urged not to attempt to cross water bodies such as Dal Lake and River Jhelum without verifying the condition and situation beforehand.
