Srinagar, May 13: Police authorities in Kulgam successfully apprehended a drug peddler and seized a significant quantity of contraband from his possession. The suspect, identified as Aaqib Hussain Bhat, was intercepted by a police team near the ARTO office Kulgam during routine patrolling. Upon conducting a search, officers discovered 3.2 kilograms of Poppy Straw concealed in a nylon bag. Aaqib Hussain Bhat, son of Abdul Rashid Bhat from Laisoo, Guddar, has since been arrested and is currently in police custody pending further investigation. A case has been registered under section 8/15 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Kulgam, and inquiries are underway. Community members are urged to cooperate by providing any relevant information regarding drug-related activities in their vicinity.
