Traffic Advisory: Jammu-Srinagar Highway other Key Roads Remain Blocked, Caution Urged

Srinagar,May 01: As restoration efforts continue on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NHW-44), authorities have announced that the road is not yet fully operational. Works are underway at Mehar and Magerkote, with a decision regarding vehicular movement set to be made tomorrow morning.
In light of this, commuters are strongly advised against traveling on NHW-44 until further notice.
The Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road remains impassable due to heavy snow accumulation, as does the Mughal Road and the Bhaderwah-Chamba road, all of which are blocked, hampering connectivity in the region.

To ensure safety, people planning journeys are urged to confirm the road status with traffic control units before setting out. Contact information for these units includes:

– PCR Kishtwar: 9906154100
