CBC Hosts SVEEP Awareness Program Encouraging Voting & Democracy Engagement in Srinagar’s Lal Chowk

Srinagar, May 09: The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, organized a dynamic awareness program at Ghanta Ghar, Lal Chowk.
The event, part of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation Program (SVEEP), aimed to inspire citizens to actively participate in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections and emphasized the crucial role of voter engagement in sustaining democracy. The initiative garnered significant enthusiasm from the local community, showcasing a collective dedication to democratic values and the exercise of voting rights. Attendees were equipped with informative materials elucidating the importance of public involvement in strengthening democratic foundations. A Field Publicity Officer from CBC Srinagar highlighted that this event is part of a larger series of initiatives spanning the Kashmir region, all geared towards fostering informed citizenship and enhancing democratic participation.
