DGP Visits Reasi: Reviews Security, Engages with Officers, and Inaugurates Facilities

Jammu, May 21: The Director General of Police J&K, R.R. Swain, visited Reasi District in the Jammu Zone to review the security scenario at Mata Vaishno Devi and Shivkhori shrines.
At a meeting held at DPL Reasi, he interacted with officers and Jawans, sharing his vision for the force and emphasizing the expectations of the people from J&K Police. He also inaugurated several new facilities for officers and officials in Reasi.
Accompanied by ADGP Law & Order Vijay Kumar, the DGP was received by ADGP Jammu Zone Anand Jain, DIG UR Range Rayees Mohammad Bhat, DC Reasi, and SSP Reasi.
Addressing the officers and personnel, the DGP highlighted the pride and responsibility that come with wearing the uniform and serving the community. “The uniform gives us the authority and responsibility to serve the people. Very few have this opportunity,” he stated, urging all ranks to uphold the legacy of the J&K Police in fighting terrorism, narcotics, and crime, while supporting those in need.
The DGP announced the allocation of funds for upgrading accommodations for police personnel and proposed forming sub-committees to ensure effective and timely use of these resources. He emphasized that each officer should take pride in their service, rooted in honesty and dedication.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on countermeasures to thwart anti-peace efforts, with a focus on robust and proactive security measures. The DGP warned that anyone aiding those who threaten peace and development will face strict legal action.
The visit included tributes at the Martyr’s Memorial and the inauguration of the SSP office Reasi, a new PCR building, and a Cyber Cell at DPL Reasi. Tablets were distributed to Beat officers, and Close User Group (CUG) numbers were assigned to jurisdictional officers. Additionally, the DGP launched an anti-drug abuse song titled “Nasha Kadi Ni Karna” by Singh Gurjeet in collaboration with J&K Police Reasi.
Attendees included ADGP Jammu Anand Jain, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Shri Rayees Mohammad Bhat, DC Reasi Vishesh Paul Mahajan, SSP Reasi Ms. Mohita Sharma, CO IRP-Ist Bn Ms. Anita Sharma, Principal STC Talwara Shri Jameel Ahmed, Dy. CO CRPF 126 Bn Shri Omnath Chatraj, and other jurisdictional officers.
