Srinagar, Sep 07 (KINS): National Conference leader Omar Abdullah on Saturday accused the BJP of “striking secret deals with some regional parties and independent candidates to form a government in Jammu and Kashmir”.
Referring to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks at the BJP’s manifesto launch in Jammu, Abdullah claimed that “Shah’s silence on Apni Party and People’s Conference raised suspicions”.
“Those who have struck a deal with Delhi will not fulfill your demands. If you need evidence for this, just look at the statement of Home Minister Amit Shah in Jammu yesterday,” Abdullah said while addressing an election rally in the Ganderbal assembly segment.
He highlighted that “Shah, during his speech, mentioned parties with which the BJP would not collaborate, but conspicuously avoided discussing Apni Party, People’s Conference, and independent candidates”. “The Home Minister listed the parties with which the BJP will not form the Government. He was, however, silent about the independents because they are hand in glove (with them). He was silent about Apni Party and People’s Conference,” he added.
Abdullah further remarked that he expected “Shah to name Engineer Rashid’s Awami Ittehad Party but noted that it was also omitted from the list”.(KINS)
