Chief Electoral Officer Launches Voters’ Pledge Campaign in Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu, Sep 16 (KINS): In a move to encourage voter participation in the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Election 2024, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has launched the Voters’ Pledge campaign. The initiative is part of the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program, which aims to educate voters and boost turnout across the Union Territory.
The Voters’ Pledge campaign calls on all citizens of Jammu and Kashmir to commit to active participation in the elections. Through this campaign, voters can express their support by taking the Voters’ Pledge and obtaining a ‘Certificate of Commitment.’ To participate, voters can visit the SVEEP website at SVEEPjk.in, where they can enter their details, select their Assembly Constituency, and download their personalized certificate, which is signed by CEO Pandurang K. Pole.
Encouraging voters, the CEO stated, “I urge the electorate across J&K to visit SVEEPjk.in, take the Voters’ Pledge, and download their ‘Certificate of Commitment.’ Let’s make this election a celebration of democracy by ensuring everyone exercises their right to vote.”
The campaign’s launch event was attended by several officials, including Akther Hussain Qazi, Nodal Officer of SVEEP J&K, Sapna Kotwal, Nodal Officer for Media J&K, and other key figures, emphasizing the collective effort to promote voter participation in the upcoming elections.
