Srinagar, Sep 22 (KINS): Tariq Hameed Karra, President of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), has sharply criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its claims of transformation in Jammu and Kashmir. In a statement issued to KINS, Karra asserted that while change is indeed occurring, it is far from the positive narrative promoted by the BJP.
He accused the party of turning the region from a flourishing tourism hub into a “testing ground” for experimental policies.
“The BJP’s so-called transformation has only brought chaos and hardship to the common people,” Karra remarked. “Under Congress leadership, we implemented practical and diplomatic measures to restore peace in Jammu and Kashmir before 2014, without treating our citizens like subjects in an experiment.”
Karra underscored the accomplishments of the Congress-led government, noting that their efforts led to genuine improvements in the lives of the people. He urged the BJP to shift focus from political maneuvering to adopting policies that truly serve the region’s needs.
“As elections approach, the BJP must recognize the sensitivity of the situation and the crucial timing,” Karra stated. “They should act responsibly, prioritizing the welfare of Jammu and Kashmir over party politics. The people deserve better than to be mere pawns in their political games.”(KINS)
