Srinagar, Oct 25 (KINS): Nowshera village in Baramulla is in deep sorrow as the family of 27-year-old Mushtaq Ahmed Choudhary tries to cope with his tragic death.
Mushtaq, who worked as a civilian porter for the Army, was killed in a terrorist attack on Army in Butapathri, Gulmarg Baramulla, late on Thursday evening.
News agency KINS reported that as the family’s main breadwinner, Mushtaq was known for his hard work and dedication.
“His sudden loss has left his loved ones in shock, struggling to imagine life without him,” one of the relatives of Mushtaq told news agency KINS.
The attack, near the Line of Control (LoC) at Nagin Dhok, targeted a convoy of the 18 Rashtriya Rifles, resulting in the deaths of two Army soldiers and two civilian porters, including Mushtaq.
The entire village mourns him as a beloved son and a caring young man. His family is holding onto memories of his kindness, unable to accept that he is gone.
Following the attack, the Indian Army quickly launched a large counter-insurgency operation. Senior officers are leading the search, with Army helicopters patrolling the skies and additional forces deployed in the rugged area. “Early Friday morning, helicopters could be seen over Butapathri as the search intensified,” reported a KINS correspondent from the scene.
Security forces suspect the attack may have been part of an infiltration attempt, given how close it was to the LoC.
The injured soldiers were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the Army and J&K Police remain on high alert, working to identify those responsible.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha offered his condolences to the grieving families, promising that the sacrifices made by the victims would not go in vain. “We will respond strongly to the attackers,” he stated, emphasizing the need for security in Jammu and Kashmir’s sensitive border areas.(KINS)
