Abdul Rahim Rather elected Speaker Legislative Assembly

Srinagar, Nov 04 (KINS): The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Monday elected senior NC leader Abdul Rahim Rather as Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.
The Legislative Assembly began at 10:30 am after which Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, and Cooperatives, Javid Ahmed Dar moved Abdul Rahim Rather, a member of the Assembly, for the Speaker’s position.
Arjun Singh Raju seconded the motion. According to news agency KINS, he was unanimously elected by the House as the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.
Rather has remained J&K Finance Minister for multiple times.
Following the Speaker election, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir will address the Assembly at 11:30 a.m. (KINS)
