Srinagar, Nov 7: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) leader Tanvir Sadiq has criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for disrupting the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly during the passage of a resolution calling for the restoration of the special status of the erstwhile state. The resolution, which was introduced in the Assembly on Tuesday, was passed with a majority.
Speaking on the ruckus created by BJP members, who protested against the resolution, Sadiq said, “The resolution introduced yesterday in the Assembly was for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and focused on their special status. It was passed with a majority in the Assembly. Now, BJP has no agenda and is merely disrupting the House. This is the same BJP that turned a prosperous state into a Union Territory.”
The BJP’s protest against the resolution emphasized their opposition to any move that seeks to restore the region’s special status, a stance that has created tension in the Assembly.
