Jammu Dec 19 (KINS): Senior Congress leader Tara Chand, along with other party members, staged a protest on Thursday against Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s alleged remarkson B.R. Ambedkar. The Congress leaders demanded an apology and the resignation of Shah.
According to news agency KINS, the protest was held in Jammu, where party members raised slogans against the BJP and the Union Home Minister.
Addressing the gathering, Tara Chand said, “Amit Shah’s remarks are an insult to the legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, who fought for equality and justice in India. We demand that he issue a public apology and step down from his post.” Union home minister Amit Shah however on Wednesday accused the Congress of “twisting” facts and his statement made in the Rajya Sabha to create an “illusion” that he insulted the country’s first law minister BR Ambedkar.
“My statement has been twisted in the Rajya Sabha. They created an illusion. Even earlier during the polls my statements have been twisted using AI. I’m from a party that can never insult Ambedkar,” he said addressing the media.

The Congress leaders alleged that Shah’s comments undermined the contributions of Ambedkar, and they vowed to intensify their agitation if their demands were not met. (KINS)
