Srinagar Jan 03 (KINS): Nasir Aslam Wani, advisor to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Friday dismissed opposition criticism regarding the promises made after the abrogation of Article 370.
He said the National Conference’s commitment to delivering on its manifesto promises and bringing substantial change to the region.
“People have elected us for five years. It’s only been two months and a few days. Each promise in our manifesto will be fulfilled, and more than that,” Wani told reporters, according to news gathering agency KINS.
The advisor highlighted the open environment fostered by the National Conference under Omar Abdullah’s leadership, citing it as a significant change in governance. “Yesterday’s open press interaction is itself a reflection of the transformation we aim to bring. Such transparency and dialogue have rarely been seen before,” Wani added.
Responding to opposition allegations that the promises made post-370 have not been visible, Wani reiterated, “Development was discussed at length yesterday, and we are fully committed to achieving the goals laid out in our agenda. Critics should evaluate us over the full term, not just two months.”
When asked about a recent tweet by an MP suggesting potential protests in Delhi if promises are not met, Wani downplayed the need for such measures. “I believe there will be no need for protests. We are dedicated to addressing the region’s needs without delay,” he assured.(KINS)
