CM Omar Abdullah meets FM Nirmala Sitharaman ahead of Union Budget
New Delhi, Jan 07 (KINS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah held a pre-Budget consultation meeting with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday at her North Block office.
The discussion, which lasted over 30 minutes, was described as “cordial” by officials.
The meeting comes ahead of Sitharaman’s scheduled presentation of the Union Budget on February 1 and marks the second interaction between the two leaders in recent months.
News agency KINS reported that Abdullah previously met Sitharaman in November, marking their first discussion since he assumed office as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
Details of the agenda discussed during the meeting were not disclosed, but such consultations are typically aimed at addressing state-specific concerns and securing necessary allocations in the Union Budget.(KINS)
