JKECC postpones protest after talks with administration
Srinagar Jan 17 (KINS): The Jammu and Kashmir Employees Coordination Committee has postponed its today’s planned protest after the administration assured that their issues would be taken up with the government.
A representative of the committee in a press conference said said they have decided to give the government 15 days to address their concerns. “We will hold talks with the administration during this period and assess the progress made on our demands,” the representative said, according to news agency KINS.
The employees are demanding the release of GP fund arrears and a hike in Dearness Allowance (DA).
On January 16, the employees staged a protest to press for their demands, but it was foiled by the police.
The committee has warned that if their demands are not met within the stipulated time, they will then decide future course of action.
