Rajouri, Jan 23 (KINS):A political controversy has erupted over the mysterious deaths in Budhal, Rajouri, with local MLA Javid Iqbal Chowdhary holding the ‘dual administrative control in Jammu and Kashmir responsible for the escalating crisis’.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Javid as per news agency KINS accused certain officials of failing to take the issue seriously.
The MLA further alleged that the Principal of GMC Jammu had ignored their concerns due to the dual control mechanism between the Centre and the Jammu and Kashmir administration.
“The authorities have failed to arrange an air ambulance for three patients in Budhal, leaving them to suffer due to the ongoing tussle between the Centre and the J&K government,” he said.
Providing updates on the health status of Aijaz, a patient who was airlifted to PGI Chandigarh, Javid said, “He has responded well to treatment after being administered an antidote. He has regained consciousness and is recovering.”
Javid called for Budhal Rajouri to be declared a National Health Emergency and urged the government to take immediate measures to ensure the safety of the affected residents.
Additionally, he said some residents have been relocated to government accommodations for their safety. “A team from the animal husbandry department is also tending to the livestock of the affected families,” he added.
So far 17 deaths have besn reported due to mysterious illness. (KINS)
