Srinagar, Feb 15 (KINS): Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar, Imtiyaz Hussain Mir has urged society to come together to fight drug menace.
Speaking to news reports at a sports event in the city’s North Zone, the SSP as per news agency KINS stressed that while the police play an important role in tackling the illegal drug trade, it’s essential for everyone in society to actively participate in addressing the root causes of the problem.
“The participation of the public, especially children, in this event shows that everyone is committed to ensuring peace and our children must have a future free from the dangers of drugs,” the SSP said.
The event also highlighted the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s efforts to fight the drug epidemic.
He said that the police is working hard to stop the spread of drugs, however, emphasized that ending this crisis requires more than just law enforcement.
“We can only move forward as a society if we raise our children well, especially our daughters, and encourage them to succeed in every field, including sports,” the SSP stated.
He also mentioned some recent police initiatives, like providing financial help to a school for the deaf and mute, and giving a laptop to a girl in need, showing that the police are committed to supporting the community beyond just their law enforcement duties.(KINS)
