Jammu, Mar 1 (KINS): Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Tariq Hameed Karra on Saturday extended an open invitation to individuals eager to contribute to the political and developmental landscape of the Union Territory.
Speaking at a party event in Jammu, Karra emphasized Congress’s commitment to empowering the people and ensuring equitable progress across the region.
“Those who aspire to play a role in shaping Jammu and Kashmir’s future should join Congress’s movement for growth and stability. Our doors remain open for anyone willing to work towards lifting the state out of its current challenges,” Karra stated.
The event marked the induction of several former panches and sarpanches from Rajouri into Congress, including BJP General Secretary Shazia Tabassum Choudhary and ex-servicemen Rajesh Sharma and Neeraj Singh. The new members pledged their support to strengthening the party at the grassroots level.
Karra launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led government, labeling it as “anti-poor, anti-youth, and anti-farmer.” He accused the ruling party of adopting policies that have exacerbated unemployment, inflation, and stagnation in developmental activities.
“This insensitive government has pushed people to the wall. Skyrocketing prices, rising joblessness, and stalled development have worsened the hardships of the common people,” he alleged.
Reiterating Congress’s dedication to public service, Karra said the party has always championed the cause of the people, particularly those in remote and marginalized areas.
“Congress has been at the forefront of introducing transformative policies aimed at improving the lives of the underprivileged. Our duty is to serve and uplift the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he asserted.
