Srinagar, May 10 (KINS): In a major diplomatic breakthrough, the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan have agreed to halt all military actions across land, air, and sea starting at 5:00 PM IST on Saturday.
The announcement was made by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri during a brief media statement.
The development follows a phone conversation initiated by the Pakistani DGMO, who contacted his Indian counterpart at 3:35 PM earlier today. Both sides reached a mutual understanding to cease all hostilities effective this evening.
“Both nations have instructed their respective forces to strictly observe this agreement,” Misri stated.
He also confirmed that the DGMOs will reconvene via phone on May 12 at 12:00 noon to review the situation and ensure continued compliance.
This announcement came shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump revealed that India and Pakistan had agreed to a “full and immediate” ceasefire following American-facilitated talks.(KINS)
