Dr Karan Singh urges devotees to visit Mata Kheer Bhawani Shrine in large numbers

Ganderbal, June 02 (KINS): Former Sadr-e-Riyasat of Jammu and Kashmir, Dr Karan Singh, on Saturday called upon devotees across the country to visit the revered Mata Kheer Bhawani temple in Ganderbal, underscoring the power of collective faith, cultural unity, and spiritual resilience.

Addressing devotees at the historic shrine, Dr Singh—who has maintained an unbroken tradition of visiting the temple for over 80 years—described the site as a profound symbol of divine grace and communal harmony.

“This temple is a sacred gift from the Goddess, and our presence here is not just an act of devotion but a message of unity,” he said. “I urge everyone, especially displaced devotees, to return and reconnect with this holy place. Let us not be driven by fear, but by faith.”

Emphasizing the importance of reclaiming spiritual traditions in the region, Dr Singh said it was vital for devotees to resume their pilgrimages and send a message of unwavering belief. “We must show the world that our faith remains unshaken. Coming here is not only a spiritual duty but a reaffirmation of our roots,” he noted.

Dr Singh lauded the Jammu and Kashmir administration and the Dharmarth Trust for making robust security and logistical arrangements for the pilgrimage. “I have full faith in the efforts of the government and the Trust. All necessary facilities have been put in place to ensure the safety and comfort of visiting devotees,” he said.

The veteran leader also issued a heartfelt appeal to Kashmiris across communities to participate in efforts to restore the cultural and spiritual fabric of the Valley. “Kashmir has endured immense suffering due to decades of conflict. It is now time to rebuild its glory through unity, devotion, and collective resolve,” he said.(KINS)
