Birsa Munda’s ideals continue to inspire BJP’s mission for tribal welfare: Ashok Koul

Jammu, Nov 10 (KINS):The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Scheduled Tribe (ST) Morcha, Jammu and Kashmir, organized a programme at Gujjar Desh Charitable Trust, Jammu, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and to honour his immense contribution as a great Adivasi hero and freedom fighter who fought for tribal dignity, rights, and identity.
The event was chaired by Ashok Koul, General Secretary (Organization), J&K BJP, and attended by Haroon Choudhary, former ST Morcha President, Choudhary Abdul Ghani, President BJP ST Morcha, senior party leaders, and a large number of tribal representatives and activists from across Jammu.
Paying glowing tributes to Birsa Munda, Ashok Koul described him as a symbol of tribal pride, unity, and resistance against injustice. He said Birsa Munda’s struggle against colonial exploitation and social oppression continues to inspire the ongoing movement for the empowerment of tribal communities.
Koul highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has given special focus to the welfare of Scheduled Tribes, ensuring their inclusion in India’s development journey with dignity and opportunity. “Birsa Munda’s ideals remind us to work with dedication and unity for the progress of every tribal family. It is our responsibility to strengthen the tribal voice at every level and fulfill his dream of equality and self-respect,” he said.
Haroon Choudhary recalled Birsa Munda’s lifelong struggle for justice and socio-economic reform, stating that his vision continues to guide efforts for the upliftment of Scheduled Tribes across the Union Territory.
Choudhary Abdul Ghani emphasized that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP government has launched historic initiatives for the welfare of STs — from forest rights to education, healthcare, and political representation. He urged ST Morcha workers to ensure that these welfare schemes reach every tribal household.
Prominent among others present were Riaz Choudhary, General Secretary ST Morcha, Choudhary Jan Mohammad, and several senior Gujjar and tribal leaders who reaffirmed their pledge to continue Birsa Munda’s mission under the BJP’s leadership.(KINS)
