J&K Police busts major inter-state, transnational terror module linked to JeM and AGuH Key operatives arrested; large cache of arms, ammunition and IED material recovered

Srinagar, Nove 10 (KINS): In a major counter-terrorism success, the Jammu and Kashmir Police said that it has busted an inter-state and transnational terror module linked with the proscribed terrorist organizations Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH). The operation led to the arrest of several key operatives and the recovery of a large cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives during coordinated searches across J&K and other states.
“The case originated on October 19, 2025, when multiple JeM threat posters were found pasted at different locations in Bunpora, Nowgam (Srinagar), intimidating Police and security forces. Following this, FIR No. 162/2025 under relevant sections of the UAPA Act, BNS, Explosive Substances Act, and Arms Act was registered at Police Station Nowgam, and a detailed investigation was initiated”.
The probe revealed the existence of a white-collar terror ecosystem involving radicalized professionals and students in contact with foreign handlers based in Pakistan and other countries. The group reportedly used encrypted communication channels for indoctrination, coordination, fund movement, and logistics. Funds were raised through professional and academic networks under the guise of social and charitable activities”.
“The accused were found involved in identifying and radicalizing individuals, recruiting them into terror ranks, raising funds, arranging logistics, and procuring arms, ammunition, and IED-making materials”.
During the investigation, the following accused were arrested:
1. Arif Nisar Dar @ Sahil, resident of Nowgam, Srinagar
2. Yasir-ul-Ashraf, resident of Nowgam, Srinagar
3. Maqsood Ahmad Dar @ Shahid, resident of Nowgam, Srinagar
4. Molvi Irfan Ahmad (Imam of a Masjid), resident of Shopian
5. Zameer Ahmad Ahanger @ Mutlasha, resident of Wakura, Ganderbal
6. Dr. Muzammil Ahmad Ganaie @ Musaib, resident of Koil, Pulwama
7. Dr. Adeel, resident of Wanpora, Kulgam
Police said that the role of a few more individuals has surfaced and they are being traced and will be apprehended soon.
During the ongoing investigation, simultaneous searches were conducted by J&K Police in Srinagar, Anantnag, Ganderbal, and Shopian, and jointly with Haryana Police in Faridabad and UP Police in Saharanpur.
The searches led to the recovery of incriminating documents, electronic devices, arms, ammunition, and IED-making materials, including:
One Chinese Star Pistol (with ammunition)
One Beretta Pistol (with ammunition)
One AK-56 Rifle (with ammunition)
One AK Krinkov Rifle (with ammunition)
2,900 kg of IED-making material, including explosives, chemicals, reagents, inflammable substances, electronic circuits, batteries, wires, remote controls, timers, and metal sheets
Police said that a financial investigation is underway to trace the flow of funds and identify all linkages.
