NC Govt failed to implement manifesto, says Congress leader G N Monga
Hits back at Tariq Hamid Karra over ‘deadwood’ remark

Baramulla, May 23: Senior Congress leader and former MLC Ghulam Nabi Monga on Saturday criticised the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference government led by Omar Abdullah for allegedly failing to implement its election manifesto.
Talking to news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS), Monga said the Congress had sincerely supported the NC government but expressed disappointment over what he termed as lack of action on key promises.
“They are making only lip service over seeking restoration of statehood. Congress also supported them in the manifesto. Over the last 18 months, the NC has failed to implement its manifesto,” he said.
Monga also targeted Jammu and Kashmir Congress president Tariq Hameed Karra over his recent remarks describing some party leaders as “deadwood”.
“He (Karra) has been appointed by the Congress high command. It is unfortunate that he is calling some Congress leaders deadwood. It is his failure if there is division in the Congress party,” Monga said.
Referring to Karra’s political background, Monga added, “He should know where he came from. Even his relative lost the municipal corporation election. Rahul Gandhi is making all efforts to strengthen Congress. I have been in Congress for the last 45 years,” he added. (KINS)
