22 killed as Pak army helicopter crashes in POK

Muzaffarabad, June 11: All 22 personnel on board in a Pakistan Army Mi-17 helicopter were killed after it crashed near Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), Reuters reported, citing security sources.

According to the Pakistani military, the helicopter crashed shortly after take-off on Wednesday due to a technical fault.

A Reuters witness said the helicopter caught fire after crashing, while firefighters rushed to the site to control the blaze.

The military said rescue teams reached the crash site soon after the accident and a board of inquiry has been ordered to determine the exact technical cause of the crash.
