Srinagar, Mar 23: In a concerted effort to combat the proliferation of drugs in society, Sopore Police have made a significant breakthrough by apprehending a drug peddler and seizing psychotropic substances.
A police team from Police Station Tarzoo, led by SHO Insp. Khalid Aslam and under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS, established a checkpoint at Tanky Mohalla Tarzoo, where they intercepted and detained an individual.
Upon conducting a search, the police recovered 456 capsules of SPASMOPROXYVON Plus from the possession of the apprehended individual, identified as Aijaz Ahmad Nadaf, son of Abdul Majeed Nadaf, and a resident of Astaan Mohalla Tarzoo. Nadaf has been arrested and is currently held in custody at PS Tarzoo.
A case under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered against Nadaf at Police Station Tarzoo, with investigations underway.
Sopore Police authorities urge the public to report any information regarding narcotics or other criminal activities to the nearest police station or by dialing 112. They emphasize the importance of community cooperation in the ongoing efforts to eradicate the scourge of drugs from society, assuring citizens that law enforcement will take stringent action against offenders in accordance with the law.
