Srinagar, August 14: On the occasion of India’s 78th Independence Day, Director General of Police, J&K, R.R. Swain, conveyed his warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, the families of fallen J&K Police heroes, and the dedicated personnel of the J&K Police.
In his message, the DGP paid tribute to the freedom fighters who made immense sacrifices for India’s independence, emphasizing the importance of remembering their contributions. “We must honor their legacy by upholding the principles of freedom, justice, and equality, and strive to build a nation that we can all be proud of,” he stated.
Reflecting on the day’s significance, the DGP honored the sacrifices of J&K Police and security forces who have given their lives in the fight against terrorism and for the nation’s safety. He praised their valor and reiterated that their legacy lives on.
The DGP called on the police force to draw inspiration from these heroes and reaffirm their commitment to courage, discipline, and selfless service. He highlighted the importance of collective efforts in creating a safer and more harmonious society.
R.R. Swain also expressed gratitude for the enthusiastic participation of the public, especially the youth, in Tiranga rallies and other events organized by the J&K Police. He commended their patriotic spirit, noting, “The Tiranga rallies have demonstrated our people’s unwavering patriotism and unity, with the youth leading the way in these celebrations.”
