Historic Milestone: Remote village in J&K’s Doda gets road connectivity for the first time since independence

Srinagar Nov 11 ( KINS ) : In a landmark development, a remote village in the mountainous Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir has gained road connectivity for the first time since India’s independence. This achievement is part of a broader infrastructure push under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government.
Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, representing the Kathua-Udhampur constituency, expressed pride in this progress, sharing on X, “Under PM @NarendraModi, remote #Doda villages are receiving road connectivity for the first time since independence.” He highlighted that new projects from NHIDCL are linking the Marmat belt, including his native village Kalota, which, he noted, had never seen a motor vehicle during his forefathers’ lives.
In support of the project, Doda West MLA and BJP leader Shakti Raj Parihar also posted on X, “The expansion and enhancement of the Dranga-Goha-Khellani road has been sanctioned, with the tender process expedited in record time.” He added that the project would greatly benefit the communities in Khellani, Marmat, Goha, and nearby areas, expressing
