SSP Handwara reviews crime & security measures in key meeting

Srinagar, Nov 22 (KINS): Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Handwara, Mushtaq Ahmad Chowdhury (JKPS), chaired a high-level crime and security review meeting at the Conference Hall of the District Police Office (DPO) Handwara. The meeting aimed to assess the law and order situation and strengthen security protocols in the district.
The session was attended by the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Handwara, SDPO Handwara, DySP DAR Handwara, DySP Ops Handwara, all Station House Officers (SHOs), and other police officials from the district. Key topics discussed included crime investigation, case disposal, verifications, and handling of NDPS and UAPA cases, along with inquest proceedings.
Addressing the officers, SSP Handwara stressed the importance of reinforcing the counter-insurgency and security grid in their respective jurisdictions. He called for strict action against individuals involved in anti-national activities and urged vigilance in areas of concern.
Highlighting the fight against drug abuse, the SSP emphasized the need for dedicated efforts to curb the menace and prevent social crimes. He instructed officers to ensure the effective and efficient resolution of pending criminal cases, with a focus on both quality and quantity in their investigative work.
SSP Handwara also reiterated the importance of adopting a public-centric approach, urging officers to prioritize grievance redressal and build stronger trust with the community. The meeting underscored the district police’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability while ensuring accountable and proactive policing.(KINS)
