SIA Kashmir nabs key Narco-Terror operative after two years on the run

Srinagar, May 28 (KINS): The State Investigation Agency (SIA) Kashmir has apprehended a proclaimed offender from Amargarh, Sopore, who had been evading arrest for the past two years.

SIA said that offender Abdul Rashid Mir is a key member of a cross-border narco-terror module operating in the Kashmir Valley.

The network, backed by terror operatives from Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), was involved in smuggling narcotics and small arms across the border into Sopore, which were then distributed among the youth throughout the valley.

The arrest is linked to FIR No. 19/2022, under which the SIA has already arrested eight individuals connected to this narco-terror syndicate.

Officials described Mir’s arrest as a major blow to cross-border terror groups that exploit narcotics to trap local youth and fund extremist activities in the Union Territory.(KINS)
