Jammu, May 20 (KINS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday handed over appointment letters to newly recruited constables of Jammu and Kashmir Police and urged them to dedicate themselves to safeguarding the unity and integrity of the nation.
Addressing the recruits during the ceremony in Jammu, the Lieutenant Governor said the nature of terrorism and law-and-order threats had evolved, requiring constant vigilance and alertness from security forces.
He said the new recruits must work in close coordination with different agencies to effectively tackle security challenges and stand on the frontlines against terrorism with determination.
The Lieutenant Governor also stressed the importance of strengthening basic policing practices, including beat policing, while using modern technology to maintain law and order and prevent crime.
Highlighting the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir campaign, he commended J&K Police for its action against drug smugglers and said the force had prepared a comprehensive strategy to choke drug trafficking routes in the Union Territory.
More than 3,200 newly recruited constables were inducted into the Jammu and Kashmir Police force during the event.
Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, DGP Nalin Prabhat, senior police and civil administration officials, and family members of the recruits were present on the occasion.(KINS)
