J&K peaceful and progressing, no threat to India’s security: MoS Defence Sanjay Seth
Srinagar, June 10 (KINS): Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth on Wednesday said Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing peace, development and growing tourism, asserting that India’s security remains strong under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
Speaking to reporters during his visit to Srinagar, Seth said citizens need not have any concerns about national security, adding that no external force can challenge India’s strength.
Referring to the situation across the border, he said people in Jammu and Kashmir are living peacefully and benefiting from development, while conditions remain unstable in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The minister highlighted the steady rise in tourist arrivals to the Union Territory and expressed confidence that the number of visitors would increase significantly in 2026. He said Kashmir continues to attract travellers from across the country due to the improving security and development scenario.
Seth also said India has remained economically stable despite global uncertainties, including tensions in West Asia, and credited the Central Government for maintaining supply chains and controlling inflation.
During his visit, the minister participated in a cleanliness drive at the Hazratbal shrine as part of programmes marking 12 years of the Modi government. Earlier in the day, he visited the Shankaracharya Temple and offered prayers for the Prime Minister’s health and long life.
Describing the completion of 12 years of the Modi government as a significant milestone, Seth said the Prime Minister has transformed the country’s image and accelerated its development, while bringing peace and progress to Jammu and Kashmir.(KINS)
