Srinagar, June 10 (KINS): The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has intensified security arrangements across Jammu and Kashmir ahead of the annual Amarnath Yatra, scheduled to begin on July 3 and conclude on August 28.
The enhanced security measures follow a high-level review chaired by CRPF Director General G.P. Singh during his visit to the Valley. Officials said security forces have been directed to strengthen counter-terror operations in vulnerable areas and maintain round-the-clock surveillance along the pilgrimage routes.
The move aims to ensure a safe and peaceful Yatra for thousands of devotees expected to visit the holy cave shrine via the Pahalgam and Baltal routes.
Authorities have already declared the Yatra routes a ‘No Flying Zone’ from July 1 until the pilgrimage concludes. Helicopter services for pilgrims will remain suspended, and devotees have been advised to undertake the journey on foot or use ponies and palkis. (KINS)
