Gurez, Sept 11 (KINS): The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Gurez has issued notices to 10 doctors after they were allegedly found absent from duty during a surprise inspection conducted on September 10.
According to the notices, the doctors were found absent without authorization during an inspection carried out by the SDM along with the MLA Gurez.
The SDM also referred to reports alleging that the doctors had been repeatedly absent from their duties, stating that such absence affected patient care and could amount to unauthorized absence and dereliction of duty.
The doctors have been directed to submit written explanations within two days, explaining why disciplinary action under the relevant service rules should not be initiated against them.
Copies of the notices have been marked to the MLA Gurez, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Chief Medical Officer Bandipora, Block Medical Officer Gurez and Treasury Officer Gurez.
The Block Medical Officer Gurez has also been directed not to prepare the salary bills of the concerned officials until further orders, while the Treasury Officer has been asked not to entertain their salary bills pending further directions.(KINS)
