Warning on social media misuse : DGP

Jammu: Director General of Police, J&K, Dilbag Singh cautioned people over the misuse of VPN (virtual private networks) and said the police would deal strictly against the misuse of social media networks.

Singh, accompanied by IGP Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh visited Doda on Sunday and inaugurated the newly constructed building of a women oolice station on the premises of Doda police station.

“There are less than 250 militants active in Jammu and Kashmir and the police will take strict action against those who are misusing the social media,” the police chief said. He said the motive behind the opening of the Doda police station was its territorial jurisdiction in Doda-Kishtwar and Ramban districts to provide better environment.


He said, “Crime against women has been taken seriously and to bring down such types of crime, women police stations have been opened. This will provide an opportunity to the women folk of the respective area to come forward and express their grievances more comfortably.”
