March 04: Police today attended a crime spot following inputs about death of a person inside an oil tanker near Khudwani By-pass.
Kulgam police received information about death of a person inside an oil tanker bearing registration No. JK02AV-1625 near Khudwani By-pass today. Accordingly senior police officers visited the crime spot and retrieved the dead body of an individual.
The killed person has been identified as Pratap Singh son of Onkar Singh resident of Dansal Jajherkotli.
Photography and video recording of the crime spot was carried out besides team members from FSL were called on spot for the examination of scene of crime. Following the scientific procedures of investigation, circumstantial evidences and samples were lifted from the scene of crime for the purpose of investigation. Detailed search in and around the oil tanker was also carried out.
Dead body of the victim was taken to hospital for conducting of medico legal formalities and will be handed over to the family members after completion of medico legal formalities.
In this regard a case FIR No. 08/2020 under section 302 IPC has been registered in Police Station Qaimoh.
Preliminary investigation reveals that the oil tanker was on way from Srinagar to Jammu. Further investigation in the matter is in progress.
