Police recovers abducted girl in Pulwama; accused arrested

May 08: Police in Pulwama recovered an abducted girl and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime.

On 06/05/2022, Police Post Lassipora received a written complaint from Nazir Ahmad Mochi of Zasoo stating there in that his daughter has been kidnapped by one person namely Sohail Ahmad Wani son of Mohd Sultan Wani resident of Zasoo.

Accordingly, on receipt of the complaint, a case vide FIR No. 38/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Litter and investigation was initiated.

During the course of investigation, officers investigating the case, raided various suspected locations and after strenuous efforts, the team was able to arrest the kidnapper and recovered the kidnapped girl within shortest possible time from Tahab area of Pulwama.

After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs. Further investigation into the matter is in progress.

Swift action by Police against anti-social elements has been appreciated by the locals. Community members are requested to cooperate with police in curbing social crimes in their neighbourhood. They can share information pertaining to social crimes with police. We reassure the community members that our efforts in curbing social crimes shall continue.“`
