Heavy firing creates panic in Srinagar outskirts

Srinagar: Heavy exchange of gunfire caused panic among residents of Wagoora area falling under Nowgam police station.

Locals said that around 10pm firing was heard around power station Wagoora where Central Industrial Security Forces is stationed.

They said firing continued for around 15 minutes.

ADGP law and order Munir Khan said it was stand off fire.

Senior superindent of police Budgam Amoud Kumar said “Reports of firing incident in Budgam are not true,” he said.
