Kidnap case: Accused escapes police custody in Ganderbal

Srinagar, June 28 : A 21-year-old youth who was accused of kidnapping a girl escaped from police custody while he was being presented before a court in Ganderbal district of central Kashmir on Friday.

Reports said that the accused Mohammad Saleem Dar (21) son of Mohammad Maqbool Dar of Anchar Soura escaped from police custody as soon as he was taken to court complex Ganderbal for remand.

SSP Ganderbal Khalil Poswal told  that the Saleem was detained by police in connection with a case regarding kidnapping and he absconded from the court complex where he was taken for getting his remand from the competent court.

Sources said that the youth was arrested in connection with an FIR number 136/2019 u/s 363 RPC registered in police station Ganderbal on the basis of a complaint. (GNS)
