Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi recently was blessed with a baby girl. This is his fifth child, after four daughters with wife Nadia. The former Pakistan skipper recently shared the news with the world on his Twitter account and received wishes from all over the cricketing world and his fans as well.

At the moment, Afridi is looking for a name for the newborn baby and he wants to continue the tradition of naming his kids with the letter ‘A’. His four other daughters are named Aqsa, Ansha, Ajwa, and Asmara. He had shared the image of the newest addition to his family in a lovely photo that had him posing with the baby in his hands along with his four kids.

“The Almighty’s infinite blessings & mercy are upon me…already having been granted 4 wonderful daughters I have now been blessed with a 5th, Alhamdulillah. Sharing this good news with my well-wishers…” posted Afridi on Twitter.

The former Pakistan all-rounder took to Twitter in order to ask his fans in helping him pick out a name which started with letter A. It was an open invitation for suggestions and incidentally, a current cricketer suggested a beautiful name which has an inspirational meaning as well.

Afridi tweeted, “This one’s for my fans: As you can see there’s a trend of my daughter’s names beginning with the letter ‘A’. Send me your recommendations for our new arrival with ‘A’….the winning name I select gets a prize! Keep the names rolling!”
To this Rashid Khan, the Afghanistan star spinner replied, “Aafreen. Means Brave”
Afridi, who retired from international cricket in 2018, is currently active in various T20 leagues around the world and has also played in T10 leagues in the middle east as well. Afridi has also authored his autobiography titled ‘Game Changer’, which he revealed many secrets of the Pakistani dressing room and also talked about the controversy about his age.

He will be seen playing in the Pakistan Super League 2020 season which will be, for the first time ever, played in its entirety in Pakistan itself. He will be plying his trade for Multan Sultans, who will be led by Shan Masood. He had revealed Masood as the captain of the side in Twitter before even the owners had a chance to do it themselves, a few days back.
