Budgam Police arrests 2 drug peddlers, contraband substance recovered


February 22: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Budgam have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.


Officers at a checkpoint established near railway road Budgam intercepted two suspicious persons identified as Bilal Ahmed Beigh and Mohd Rafiq Hajam both residents of Kadipora, Budgam. Officers during checking were able to recover 220gms of charas from their possession.


Case FIR No. 54/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Budgam and investigation in the matter has been initiated. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station Budgam where they remain in custody. 


Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace as reiterated in our community meetings.
