Man from Tangmarg dies as Kashmir records 2nd COVID-19 death

Srinagar, March 29 : The Kashmir Valley recorded the second fatality due tothe novel coronavirus as a 62-year-old man hailing from Tangmarg area of northKashmir’s Baramulla district died on Sunday wee hours.

A senior government officer told that the man died at Chest Disease hospital at around 4:00 am.

A doctor told news agency that the man was referred from SMHS hospital and had tested positive only yesterday.“He was put on a ventilatoryesterday evening.

The patient was suffering from liver ailment,” the doctorsaid.

A police officer at Tangmarg also confirmed the man’s death and police has been ordered to make necessaryarrangements. With his death, the number of fatalities due to COVID-19 has raisedtwo in Kashmir Valley.

On Thursday last, a65-year-old from Hyderpora died of the disease, making it the first case ofdeath due to Coronavirus.

Meanwhile, one more persontested positive for the coronavirus at the Chest Disease hospital, taking thenumber of such persons to 24 in Kashmir Valley and overall 33 in the entireJammu and Kashmir. (GNS)
