Restriction will continue till further orders: DM Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, APRIL 20:  The District Magistrate, Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal today said that the restrictions will continue in Ganderbal district till May, 03.

However as per the guidelines by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, the relaxation will be allowed only after proper assessment of the ground situation, he added.

He said this while touring various areas of the Ganderbal town to monitor the implementation of lockdown.

The DC was accompanied by SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal.  On the occasion several vehicles were seized for violating the lockdown orders.

The DM asked the police authorities to allow movement of emergency vehicles only, after proper verification and movement passes. A complete lockdown will continue till 03 May throughout the district and no person will be allowed without movement passes except in case of any medical emergency, he added.

The DM appealed people to stay at home to break the chain of Corona virus infection and ensure strict adherence to the order as the non-compliance will entail strict actions under the relevant laws.

He urged people to apply online for E-passes by visiting the official website https://ganderbal.nic.in, selecting “quick links” tab followed by district Ganderbal E-pass service link.
